Ka kite ano Summer and Nau mai, Haere mai Autumn!

‘Autumn whispered to the wind. “I fall; but always rise again.” – Angie Weiland-Crosby’

We here at Tai Tokerau Trades Training hope you are all managing well in these challenging circumstances that Covid-19 dishes out to us all. We all must try and make the right ‘pivot’ and keep adapting to these confusing times. Just as it says in this beautiful quote, we need to “rise again”
So Kia Kaha whanau, and in the words of the famous House of Shem…. Keep rising!
We have some news regarding our whanau mahi here at Tai Tokerau Trades Training, again!

This time we are extremely sad yet excited to farewell our Senior VC Alice Furrell as she is leaving us to go on maternity leave. We would love to extend our warmest wishes to Alice as she takes on the newest and most exciting step in her adventure called life.

We are also proud to announce that stepping into the role of Senior VC is our wonderful Awhina Wickens. Please join us in wishing Awhina good luck even though we at Tai Tokerau Trades Training know that she is going to do an AMAZING job!

With this exciting news, we are seeking a further team member to join us as a Vocational Coordinator.
Please feel free to share our vacancy listing with anyone that would suit this role!

Tai Tokerau Trades Training - Trade Academy Profile Videos
The EEB team continue to work to build the connection between industry and education. Due to Covid, we have looked at how we go about this in a way that is as effective, targeted and safe as possible.

Our Trade Academy Profile Videos are a perfect fit for this. The objective is to create a video of a school's Trade Academy which can be used to promote that trade academy and its students to industry. The idea is that we want industry to know that these trade academies should be used as their talent pipelines and should be their first port of call when recruiting Apprentices!

We had an excellent day this month at Kamo High School in Whangarei filming their amazing students and Construction Trade Academy.

We were so thrilled with the way the student spoke about their positive experiences with Trade Academy, and hope that industry will see their dedication, passion and maturity.

If your school has a Trade Academy that you would like to promote, reach out to your Vocational Coordinator today!
